Baked by Yael is wonderful! For my birthday this year my sister sent me a beautiful basket of Yael’s bagels and cake pops. I shared it with one of my patients, a young boy who had just had a painful surgery. He was in extreme discomfort and hungry because he hadn't eaten in a while. I immediately thought of the cake pops and told him that I had the perfect thing to help cure his discomfort. He asked, "what?" and I said, "cake pops!" He was SO excited to have something so yummy as his first snack. An hour later his mother came out of their room to tell me that they had never seen cake pops before and her son had gone back to the room, taken photos, and texted them to his siblings and his father. At that moment he was on the phone bragging about how he got to have a lollipop made of cake! She was so happy that he had something fun and positive that could come out of their time at the hospital, something that made him feel special. :)
